ABOUT US

The Thinking Behind Saujana Fund

We started with a simple observation: too many Malaysians in their 40s and 50s were making important financial decisions without access to clear, unbiased education. We set out to change that.

OUR STORY

Why We Exist

Saujana Fund was founded in Kuala Lumpur by a small group of financial educators who noticed a consistent gap in the market. The people who most needed access to sound financial knowledge — those in their 40s and 50s, facing real decisions about retirement, irregular income, or cautious investment — were being underserved.

Most financial content either assumed too much prior knowledge, was oriented toward younger audiences, or was shaped by product-selling objectives. We wanted to create something different: a structured, educational environment where adults could engage with financial topics honestly, at their own pace, without pressure.

The name "Saujana" means "to the horizon" — a deliberate reference to the longer view that good financial planning requires. Every programme we offer is built with that horizon in mind.

OUR MISSION

What Guides Us

Clarity above all

Every concept we teach is explained in plain language. If we can't make it clear, we rethink the explanation — not the audience.

No hidden agenda

We are educators, not product distributors. Our programmes are paid for by participants, not by financial institutions. This protects the independence of what we teach.

Respect for experience

Our participants have decades of life experience. We design sessions that build on that, rather than starting from scratch as if financial matters were entirely foreign.

STANDARDS WE HOLD OURSELVES TO

How We Protect Our Participants

PDPA Compliance

All personal and financial information shared in sessions is handled strictly in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010. We never share participant data with third parties.

Structured Curriculum

Each programme has a defined syllabus reviewed annually by our education team. Sessions follow a clear sequence so participants build understanding progressively.

No Product Endorsement

Saujana Fund does not accept commissions, referral fees, or sponsorship from financial institutions. Our educators are paid by participants only, preserving the integrity of what is taught.

Updated Materials

Content is reviewed and updated regularly to reflect current EPF rules, tax regulations, and available financial products in Malaysia. Participants always receive current information.

Two-Way Sessions

All sessions are interactive — not lectures. Participants are encouraged to ask questions, share their specific circumstances, and direct the conversation towards what actually matters to them.

Confidentiality Agreement

All educators sign a confidentiality agreement covering participant information. What you share in sessions stays within our team only, with no exceptions.

OUR APPROACH

Financial Education That Fits Real Life

Most financial education available in Malaysia is oriented towards younger professionals building wealth from scratch. Saujana Fund was built around a different group entirely — Malaysians who are already mid-career or approaching retirement, navigating decisions that carry real weight.

Self-employed individuals in their 40s often deal with income patterns that standard financial tools simply weren't designed for. The freelancer landscape in Malaysia has grown considerably, yet the support infrastructure — tax guidance, voluntary EPF contribution knowledge, insurance structuring — has not kept pace. Our Freelancer Financial Foundations session was designed specifically to address this.

For those considering structured deposit products, the terminology and conditions attached to these instruments can feel opaque. Our Structured Deposit Education Course demystifies these products using actual examples from Malaysian banks, giving participants the vocabulary and framework to assess whether such products suit their personal risk comfort and timeline.

The Resilient Retirement Programme reflects our deepest conviction: that retirement planning done well is not about maximising a number, but about building a financial structure that can absorb uncertainty. Drawing on Malaysian economic history and current conditions, this programme helps participants think through multiple income scenarios, healthcare cost exposure, emergency reserves, and spending patterns in a grounded, realistic way.

We are based at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng in Kuala Lumpur and serve participants from across the Klang Valley and beyond, with online sessions available for those outside the city.
